BiographySince 1980, Joe Benson's presence both on and off the air has made him more than a popular Southern California entertainer. He's been a family member to millions of Southland listeners — their own 'Uncle Joe.' Benson's authored a critically acclaimed series of books on the history of Rock & Roll — the "UNCLE JOE'S RECORD GUIDES" — and hosts the weekly syndicated "Off The Record" music/interview program on 90+ stations nationwide. An accomplished race car driver with wins in NASCAR, NHRA Drag Racing and SCCA Road Racing, Joe's unique involvement in motorsports — as a participant, announcer and reporter — has garnered national print and TV attention while keeping him in constant touch with his audience.
